Marte Eknæs’ creative work was largely influenced by the 1990s. In the United Kingdom, a collective of artists known as the YBAs, or Young British Artists, dominated the artistic culture of the decade. Eknæs is currently a PhD fellow in Artistic Research at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her work has been exhibited at Kunstnernes Hus, Munch Museum on the Move, Oslo and Trondheim Kunstmuseum, Trondheim. She also showed (selection) at Kölnischer Kunstverein Cologne, Bonner Kunstverein, Bonn; Between Bridges, London and Susanne Hilberry Gallery, Ferndale.
